Osteomyelitis

Osteomyelitis is a bone infection. It is caused due to microorganisms that infect the bone and the microorganisms can spread to the bone through the blood stream or infection from the nearby tissue. It a rare condition but it can become serious because it can spread to other parts of the body via bloodstream. In children osteomyelitis generally infect longer bones of the legs and upper arm. The infection can also occur because of some bone surgery in which the metal rods are introduced in the bones. The persons with weak immune system are at higher risk of developing osteomyelitis because the microorganisms can easily gain entry in the blood stream and infect the bones. The symptoms of osteomyelitis include fever, pain, rashes or redness and swelling in the area of infection. Various diagnostic methods are there for the diagnosis of osteomyelitis like bone scan, bone x-ray and MRI of the bone. There are various treatments for the osteomyelitis like antibiotics that kill the infection causing microorganism or if the infection is severe then the dead bone is removed so that it will not infect the surrounding tissues. Scientific journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting novel research. There are thousands of scientific journals in publication, and many more have been published at various points in the past. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Scientific journals contain articles that are peer reviewed, to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. The publication of the results of research is an essential part of the scientific method. If they are describing experiments or calculations, they must supply enough details that an independent researcher could repeat the experiment or calculation to verify the results. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
