Pharmacovigilance is studying the safety and effectiveness of drugs and practice to minimize the possible risk associated with the use of drugs. It has developed significantly and will continue to develop in response to the new challenges it faces. With the rapid spread of information across the globe, increased communication across borders, easy access to variety of medicinal products and increasing public expectation of safety, there is a need for careful strategic planning adopting a holistic approach to meet the additional challenges.
