It is a fungal infection of humans. Individuals with weakened immune systems like HIV/AIDS, on chemotherapy, diabetes are more likely to get mycosis. Mycoses are three types: Superficial mycoses are fungal infections of outermost layers of the skin and hair. Example includes fungal infection by Tinea versicolor.
Cutaneous mycoses extend deeper into the epidermis. Example includes infection from ringworm. Systemic mycoses are fungal infection present throughout the body example Candidiasis, Cryptococcosis and Aspergillosis.
