Sedimentology is defined as the study of Sediments and the process of their formation that took place in the prehistoric times. More than 75% of the earth surface is covered by Sediments and Sedimentary rocks. These studies are of great importance for investigating the availability of resources such as coal, gas, oil, groundwater and geothermal energy. Furthermore they avail raw materials for monument stone, chemical industry and bulk materials for building purposes.
Review articles are the summary of current state of understanding on a particular research topic. They analyze or discuss research previously published by scientist and academicians rather than reporting novel research results.
Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
