Women in politics in the modern era are under-represented in most countries worldwide, in contrast to men. Day by day women are politically elected as the heads of state government. Currently more than 20 countries have woman holding offices as the head of a national government, and nearly 20% is the national-level parliamentâs global participation rate of women. Different countries are exploring measures that may increase women's participation in government, politics and at all different levels, from the local to the national. Women empowerment can be increased by increasing women's representation in the government. Increasing womenâs representation in government is necessary to achieve the equality between men and women.
