Bioceramics are successfully used as implants as it is chemically similar with the inorganic constituent of biological hard tissue. It is present in bone, teeth and tendons to give these organs stability, hardness and function. On account of its chemical similarity with the biological calcified tissue it is remarkably biocompatible.
