Cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the heart muscles are unable to contract properly. So because of this the heart is unable to pump the blood to the whole body properly. This condition can lead to heart failure. Cardiomyopathy may be of two type- intrinsic cardiomyopathy and extrinsic cardiomyopathy. In this the heart muscles may become too weak to pump blood to the body or may contract irregularly that can even lead to sudden death. The signs and symptoms are usually similar to other heart problems also and the common signs and symptoms include shortness of breath, swelling of the legs due to accumulation of fluid in the body, cough, weakness and dizziness. The conditions only worsen with time so the disease should be treated at proper time. It can be diagnosed by either chest X-ray or by electrocardiogram. The person with severe problems may even need heart transplant. Scholarly journal is a peer-reviewed journal in which scholarship relating to a particular academic discipline is published.
