Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a lung infection caused due to infection by virus and bacteria. It generally infects the alveoli of lungs or the air sacs. As the persons lung is infected it generally results in respiratory problems like problem in breathing, regular cough and chest pain. The severity of the disease depends on the causing agent of the disease, person’s immune system, genetic factors and the age of the person. There are various types of pneumonia divided according to the causal agent: bacteria pneumonia, viral pneumonia, mycoplasma pneumonia. The people with lower immunity, older people and the people having early history of some disease like asthma are at higher risk of developing pneumonia. The common symptoms for pneumonia include chest pain, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty in breathing and muscle pain. Chest X-ray and blood test can be done to diagnose the disease. Antibiotics and antiviral drugs can be given to treat the infection.
