Rubella

Rubella is caused by a virus called rubella virus. It is also called German measles. In this the person develops rashes all over the body and this disease may easily spread to other person by contact or by air hence it is contagious. It is usually common in children. There are few symptoms of the rubella that include mild fever and headache; the adult may even not notice the symptoms because its symptoms are very similar to the flu. The rubella virus can be prevented by vaccination by MMR vaccine which is a combined vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella. It generally makes the individual permanently immune to the virus. Diagnosis can be done by the blood test. But once the person has this disease it cannot be treated. Only medications are given to reduce the symptoms.
