Open access to the scientific literature means the removal of barriers (including price barriers) from accessing scholarly work. There are two parallel “roads” towards open access: Open Access articles and self-archiving. Open Access articles are immediately, freely available on their Web site, a model mostly funded by charges paid by the author (usually through a research grant). The alternative for a researcher is “self-archiving” (i.e., to publish in a traditional journal, where only subscribers have immediate access, but to make the article available on their personal and/or institutional Web sites (including so-called repositories or archives)), which is a practice allowed by many scholarly journals.
The aquatic plants research focuses on fermentation where the economical value is more. The sea weeds research helpful for the production of biofuels. More research has been done to study on the food and related products through the aquatic weeds. The research is also carried a lot in the aquatic plant Jatropa. Single cell proteins, which is dietary component is also produced through the aquatic plants. By using new novel techniques several useful components are also produced from algae. Some aquatic plants are useful as a food supplement for mankind. Some people may use the aquatic weeds like Duck weed use at their homes as a protection from predators. Each and every aspect of science and technology utilizes the scientific skills and make use of the benefits for the mankind and finally involves in business for profit.
