Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis of coronary arteries develops and progresses at different rates, and it may manifest clinically at different stages of coronary stenosis. Thrombus formation within a coronary vessel is the precipitating event in acute coronary syndromes (unstable angina, myocardial infarction or sudden cardiac death), as shown in angiographic and pathologic studies. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author'sscholarlywork, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected.
