Prolactin is a protein secreted from the pituitary gland in response to eating, sexual intercourse, estrogen treatment, ovulation, and breastfeeding. It is also involved in metabolism regulation, immune system regulation and development of pancreas. Its pincipal role is to stimulate lactation in females after childbirth and maintain milk supply during breastfeeding.Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal.
