Biomarker is a measurable indicator of the severity or state of disease. It can also be defined as anything that can be used as an indicator of a particular disease state or physiological state of an organism. Oxidative stress reflects an imbalance between the systemic manifestation of reactive oxygen species and a biological system's ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or to repair the resulting damage. Liver disease is relatively common but often occurs in the absence of specific clinical signs. The liver has great powers of regeneration and more overt clinical signs associated with its failure do not appear until some 70-80% of the functional capacity is lost.
A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
