The Boom Concept of Phonosurgery

Boom Concept of Phonosurgery The concept of phonosurgery was introduced by Albrecht in 1954, she used a gynecologic colposcope for microlaryngoscopy. A primary phonomicrosurgical principle in glottal surgery is to maximally preserve the vocal folds’ layered microstructure. It has been found that cold instruments alone are generally better suited for the resection of superficial and/or smaller vocal lesions, rather than laser treatment, because of the greater surgical precision which can be achieved. Cold instrumentation allows for careful micro dissection between the polyp and the residual normal lamina propria. Phonosurgery is the name assigned to a branch of laryngeal surgery that deals with the best possible restoration of laryngeal function rather than the simple removal of lesions to restore normal laryngeal appearance. The concept of phonosurgery emerged in the early 1970s with the introduction of suspension microlaryngoscopy and the operating microscope. Modern scientists have paved the way for recent advances in phonosurgery, has gained prominence due to the effective beneficial results displayed by the patients. Patients with thyroid problems will have great relief because of phonosurgery. Articles, Case studies, Manuscripts with regard to phonosurgery, thyroid related research and developments can be submitted to:
