Fishery is involved harvesting fish which can be of different types Krill fishery and Shrimp fishery. The fish-smoking area is one of the most significant industrial area or center that processes fish as coastal resources in Bandarharjo located on the bank of Semarang River, since 1986 in which the existence may be critical in support of the characteristic of Semarang as a coastal city.
Maintenance of fish-smoking area
In order to maintain the significance of fish smoking area, a research has been conducted on the convenience of working space, physical condition of the building, and environmental infrastructure is needed. Local people keep maintaining the activities of smoking fish regardless the poor physical condition of the buildings and environmental infrastructure as a result of the high tide.
Thus, by examining that fish-smoking industry can provide jobs for low educated people and also food for the people living in Semarang and also, the degrading condition of the buildings and environment in Bandarhardjo needs to be projected by considering the concept of space, building and environmental infrastructure quality improvement.
