Introduction:

We all work in different kind of workplace and every workplace has its own kind of waste and possible hazardous material. Even though we cannot notice it directly but most of the people do not even know that these can be cause of various severe diseases like lung cancer. Do not panic, industrial hygiene is the only way, which can keep these unwanted things out of your life. This is the science of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling possible hazardous materials at work place.

History of hazardous waste controlling:

History of performing hygiene at workplace, industry or occupational site is very old and started a long back. However, in recent past level of maintenance of industrial hygiene has gone a level down. Peoples are not very much concerned about occupational hygiene. This may lead to various unwanted condition of falling sick, and not be able to do lot of scheduled work on time. Most commonly, we do not consider hygiene at work place because we think that our workstation is looking clean, but that certainly does not mean that is actually very hygienic. First of all, these things were implemented in mercury plants where unwillingly people were forced to inhale this as it was in air. After that, humidity level was maintained in cotton industry and level of carbon monoxide too.

Types of possible hazardous materials:

At our workplace, we should recognize first the possible hazardous materials; which can be controlled. After that, we would go for controlling methods to get rid of it and we should always look for the preventive methods to avoid them.

Conclusions:

Even small silica dust particles at our workstation can lead to lung cancer. So be aware about Industrial Hygiene as soon as possible and we should take it into practice.
