Antibodies are protein molecules produced by the immune system against the antigens infected by the infectious organisms like bacteria, virus, fungi and parasites. An antibody aims to kill the antigen and makes them harmless by destruction its components. One or two weeks after the infection, antibodies begin to appear in the blood against the HIV antigen and they are persisting for life. Initially antibodies will generate for p24 antigen followed by gp120 and gp41 antigen. However produced antibodies are not effective the people are still living HIV infection due to high viral loads, rapid disease progression and high mortality.
