An Update on Influenza

Influenza otherwise known as flu is of three types. They are Seasonal influenza, Pandemic influenza (Ancient flu) and zoonotic influenza. According to WHO, zoonotic influenza is more widespread across the globe.H3N2 virus spread all across Europe and it showed a significant decrease in North America. In Africa H1N1 virus is widespread. The best way to protect against influenza is to receive an influenza vaccination every year. However, vaccination in December or even later is still beneficial because the virus that causes influenza circulates past the New Year, The number of influenza cases usually peaks around February, but this peak can come earlier or later.
