Viewing an Eclipse and blindness
Looking directly at sun during a solar eclipse is believed to be very dangerous for eyes and vision. People believe that this is a common myth without any scientific explanations. But direct contact of eyes with eclipse sun rays can kill the retinal cells causing blindness to the eyes. The eclipse sun rays are comparatively much stronger than normal rays and lens of the eyes will concentrate these rays into retina thus causing the burning phenomena. This is major reason why eye care during eclipse needs glasses with specific lenses that block out dangerous wavelengths of light.
