Eye allergies or ocular allergies are also called as allergic conjunctivitis. Ocular allergies are caused by airborne allergens and other particles that come in contact with eyes. Eye allergies are annoying and cause discomfort, but they rarely cause harm to eyesight. Major symptoms of allergies include itching, redness, watery eyes, swelling or puffiness of the eyelids etc. Severe ocular allergies include pink eye, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic rhinitis etc. Treatment for ocular allergies includes antihistamines, decongestants, mast cell stabilizers, steroids etc.
