Gastrocnemius muscle which is located back side of the lower leg. It comes from two immovable ends located on the femur (thigh bone which longest, strongest, heaviest in the human body), one on the side and one toward the Center. The tendon starts approximately 5.9 inches above the heel, running down the Center of the leg to connect to the heel below the ankle. The gastrocnemius is primarily involved in running, jumping and other "fast" movements of leg, and to a lesser degree in walking and standing.
