When the deposition radius ratio Rj/R0, which is 0.067 for the localized-source procedure in the present study, is small, the normal stress dip beneath the pile clearly appears. On the other hand the normal stress dip is not formed beneath the pile constructed by the raining procedure of which Rj/R0 is 1.0 which means that the deposition radius is equal to the final pile radius.
