Threats for US: Ebola, Dirty Bombs and Bioterrorism

The main headline news in United States is been hazardous virus Named Ebola. Even US could face greater medical threat BIOTERRIRISM. US has been efficiently monitoring and as well as fortunate as they doesn’t have any successful bioterrorist attack, all the credit and efforts goes with Government organizations. But in future the bioterrorists will be the most concerned threat to the mankind. All the trials by the bioterrorists were focused on US, which is proved by different evidences found up to now. The usage of the Biological weapons can cause irresistible damage than any kind of weapons.

A successful bioterrorist attack could do more damage to the American populace than a virus that requires a lot of work to treat the infected and to protect those with whom they have come into contact. The threat of a bioterrorism attack is not a new concern for America – it was a high priority on past and present administrations’ to do lists. Recent update from FDA is that they approved new products stating which can deal with the consequences of the terrorists using Dirty Bombs, which have become an increasing concern. These bombs unlike warheads created/designed to kill and destroy through a huge nuclear blast with huge heat, so called radiation weapons. These perform conventional explosives to blow radioactive material far and wide. A successful bomb explosion could make a section of a city uninhabitable for years. The goal is to provide protection from both nuclear threats and accidents.

It said the two products approved by FDA are safe and effective for treating contamination from the elements plutonium, americium or curium. The FDA said that while these drugs have been in use on an experimental basis for several years, until this action there have been no approved drugs for treatment of internal contamination by the three radioactive elements.Plutonium, curiumor americium can enter the body through a variety of routes including inhalation ingestion, or direct contact through abrasion or wounds. By removing them immediately the victim may avoid possible future effects including the development of certain cancers, which may occur years after exposure, FDA said.
