Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome

Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome originally coined as eczema-thrombocytopenia-immunodeficiency syndrome is a hereditary X-linked recessive disease implying as to its occurrence in majority in males. Symptoms usually presents with petechiae and bruising as a resulting of a low platelet count. Subject usually suffers from nose bleeds and bloody diarrhea. Diagnosis are done with respect to immunoglobulin level check and observing the result such as low levels of IgM, elevated levels of IgA, and elevated levels of IgE may reveal its presence and also paraproteins are observed occasionally. Skin immunologic testing (allergy testing) may reveal hyposensitivity as a confirmation for WAS (Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome).
