3-D Printing of a Non-Human Primate Brain Slicer for Accurate, High Resolution Sampling of Specific Regions of Fresh or Frozen Brain

The non-human primate (NHP) brain closely parallels the human brain in terms of both circuitry, and of the specific functional regions which form connections within the circuits. Using conventional manufacturing technology, we constructed a Brain Block Slicer tailored to the structure of the NHP brain, and used it to make precise and reproducible coronal slices for next generation sequencing-based transcriptome analysis.
