Paleopharmacology-Ayurvedic Treatment for Hay Fever

seasonal allergies such as Hay fever is common among tropical countries, often people seem to have a cold and may also suffer with itchy skin & nose, sneezing and other more severe reactions such as asthma and other breathing difficulties. The remedy in all cases recommends nasal medication for controlling and preventing Hay fever. Medicated oil made with licorice, agaru (aquilaria agallocha), bilva (aegle marmalos), kantakari (solanum xanthocarpum), lotus, and nutgrass is administered as one drop in each nostril regularly for 4 weeks. Home remedy includes medicated oil specially prepared by mixing dry ginger, black pepper and long pepper powder in equal amount and adding cloves oil, camphor, and coriander, and administration of this mixture 3 times a day with warm water is belived to prevent hay fever.
