Biosensors based on Gold nanostructures

Gold nanoparticles based matrices have attracted increasing attention due to their unique properties such as high biocompatibility, non-toxicity, tunable electronic and optical behavior, good conductivity and high catalytic activity. This has made nano-gold as a fundamental building block for the development of innovative functional material and that several novel strategies have been proposed to develop electrochemical immunosensors with high sensitivity using gold nanoparticles.
