The prevalence of cardiovascular complications is on the rise in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sixty to 80% of people with diabetes die of cardiovascular complications. Vascular changes that occurs in long standing diabetic patients is the major contributor to these late complications in diabetes. It has been seen that the development of cardiovascular complications are not uniform among diabetic population.
