Fjord: Maintains Climate Change

Fjord is a deep elongated lakedrain, with steep land on three sides and is found where present or past glaciations extended below the present sea-level. A new study by Richard and the colleagues revealed the earth current status of interglacial period as a vital importance and findings of the study were Fjords intake approximately 18 million tones of organic carbon from the nature every year which is equivalent to 11% annual marine carbon burial globally.

The analyzed data was from 573 surface sediment samples and 124 sediment cores from almost all fjord environments globally.
