Obesity is one of the major challenges in the world and is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Together with underweight and high blood pressure (BP), they are directly associated with the prevalence of morbidity and mortality from CVD. It is estimated that one-third of the cases of arterial hypertension in adults are related to obesity. Obesity and underweight are likely to predict CVD risk in the long term if they manifest themselves amongst children at an early stage
