A natural phosphate electrode modified with antibiotic (amoxivillin) was employed for the detection and quantification of Staphylococcus aureus from aqueous solutions. The new electrode (AMX-NPE) revealed interesting electroanalytical detection of Staphylococcus aureus based on the adsorption of these bacteria onto antibiotic under open circuit conditions.
