Carcinogenesis involves continues mutations that results in the formation of malignant mass of cells that are disordered compared to that of the normal tissue. The mutation occurs at the genetic levels hence results in devasting effects. Mutations results in the defective codon which results in the formation of a defective protein. The protein is either found to be premature or truncated or the functional side of the enzyme is altered resulting in defective protein. Thus at the end there is a change in the signalling mechanism and hence resulting in abnormal growth of the cells. When this kind of mutation occurs in the germ line cells, the mutation is inherited by the offsprings while the somatic mutations are not heritable. Open access publication aids easy accesses to the scientific articles, these articles are freely available to the readers and the authors are charged to pay for the publication. Carcinogenesis Open articles are those freely available articles that explain about the cause and the prevention methods for various types of cancer.
