Congenital heart defect (CHD) or congenital heart anomaly is a defect in the structure of the heart and great vessels that is present at birth. Structural abnormalities in the heart and blood vessels present at the time of birth are termed as congenital heart disorders. These disorders affect the blood flow in the heart and larges vessels. Congenital heart disorders are one of the major causes of death in infants and children.
