inflammation is part of the complex biological response of vascular tissues to harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, damaged.
Inflammation is divided in to two types 1) Active inflammation 2) chronic inflammation
Active inflammation helps us in healing the wounds and infection. Active inflammation turns on the when a foreign particles enters in our body and releases proinflammatory substances when required and turning them off with an anti-inflammatory compounds when the danger has been successfully removed.
Chronic inflammation the system gotten hung up and continues to produce pro-inflammatory compounds when they are not needed and causes damage to health cells.
Recently researchers are focusing on the human protein Elafin which has anti-inflammatory properties.
They found that inserting the protein Elafin directly in to the intestine helps in the protection of intestinal inflammatotory attacks. Scientists have designed modified bacteria by introducing the Elafin gene in dairy produce bacteria Lactococcus lactis that could protect against intestinal inflammatory attacks.
