Optical coherence tomography is an emerging optical signal acquisition and processing method that performs high resolution, cross sectional tomographic imaging of internal structure in biological systems and materials. It captures micrometer resolution; three dimensional images from within optical scattering media. Out of three basic approaches of optical tomography: diffraction tomography, diffuse optical tomography and optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT are of more importance because these are cheap, safe and can apply in a wide variety of applications including medical applications.
