Virology is the study of viruses â submicroscopic, parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat â and virus-like agents. Viruses affecting bacteria are called as bacteriophages. Viruses have a great impact on immunology of human bodies, thus leading to the dreadful diseases such as AIDS and Viral hepatitis. Unlike the other microorganisms the genetic material in HIV is RNA. Due to its rapid replicating ability, it produces chronic infections and diseases in the host organisms. Plant viruses caused many lethal infections to crops which lead to the loss in crop production.
