Virology Scholarly Journal

Virology is the study of viruses – submicroscopic, parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat – and virus-like agents. Viruses affecting bacteria are called as bacteriophages. Viruses have a great impact on immunology of human bodies, thus leading to the dreadful diseases such as AIDS and Viral hepatitis. Unlike the other microorganisms the genetic material in HIV is RNA. Due to its rapid replicating ability, it produces chronic infections and diseases in the host organisms. Plant viruses caused many lethal infections to crops which lead to the loss in crop production. Scholarly journal is a peer-reviewed journal in which scholarship relating to a particular academic discipline is published. Scholarly journals serve as forums for the introduction and presentation for scrutiny of new research, and the critique of existing research. Content typically takes the form of articles presenting original research, review articles, and book reviews. The term Scholarly journal applies to scholarly publications in all fields; this article discusses the aspects common to all academic field journals.
