Oral microbiology deals with the discomfort and distress caused by the oral microbes. For example, tooth decay which is caused by the bacteria is one of the most common human diseases which are painful. The role of oral microorganisms includes dental caries and periodontal disease. Bacteria occupy the ecological niche provided by both the tooth surface. However, a highly efficient innate host defense system monitors the bacterial colonization and prevents bacterial invasion of local tissues. Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
