Electrical Engineering is a blend of teaching and research activities pertaining to both Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
The Department has an healthy mixture of young and experienced faculty members, all of whom display high levels of enthusiasm and dedication. Apart from teaching and research, the faculties are actively involved in organizing technical workshops, camps and visits at the Institute to create an environment conducive to experiential learning. The research areas of the current PhD students include Image Processing, Optical sensors, VLSI, Power Electronics and Renewable Energy sources. Every year many of our B. Tech. and PhD students carry out summer internships at reputed academic institutes and industries. Approximately 20% of these internships are at foreign universities. The Department is very ably supported by qualified staff that helps in the smooth functioning of laboratories and other administrative activities.
The future of electrical engineering has broad spectrum analysis on nanotechnology, image processing, renewable energy sources, embedded systems, imaging, optoelectronics, optical fibers etc., Each and every new idea of electronics is making the life to move ahead. The future electrical engineering has major medical applications. Several treatments of diseases are done through electrical equipment. For example to identify diabetes in a person can be done by a watch which is wear by the person. This watch has been designed in such a way that it has to check the sugar levels and give a report regarding that. The future of electrical engineering is an endless research.
