Vitamins A, D, E, and K are readily soluble in oil matter. Fat soluble vitamins are insoluble in water and stored in the body for longer duration of time in the liver and adipose tissues. Elimination of these vitamins is very much less in comparison to water soluble vitamins. Long term storage poses greater chances of toxic level when consumed in higher quantity. Diseased conditions leading to decreased fat absorption leads to decreased absorption of vitamins.
