Hepatology is the branch of medicine that includes the study of liver, gall bladder, pancreases. It was the subject of gastroenterology. It also includes the study of the liver related disease like viral hepatitis. This can be due to the infection with hepatitis b or hepatitis c virus. With help of vaccination this can be prevented. Cirrhosis is one of the major problem related to liver in which liver tissue is replaced by scar tissue.
