It is the case in which generally there is an inflammation of the bone marrow. It can be of different types generally based on the microorganism causing it, pus formation or increase in density of the bone. Inflammation which is present for over a month is referred to as Chronic Osteomyelitis. The microorganisms mainly infect the bone via the bloodstream. Once the bone is infected the lymphocytes enter the site of infection to engulf the infectious organisms and thus release enzymes which lyses the bone.
