Mechanisms of yoga is a demonstration of yoga that is promising for older people with RA, yet thus far young people have been mainly ignored. With the exclusion of our recent mixed-methods paper probing the quantitative outcomes and pain reports of people with RA, there have been no studies absorbed specifically on young RA patients. In addition, no prior studies that we are aware of have used qualitative methodology to examine experiences of a yoga interference for people with RA. Research exploring the mechanisms of yoga remains limited, and a complete model depicting how yoga may impact functioning is yet to be tested. Asking patients to explore likely changes in functioning after undertaking yoga is important in documenting a full range of patient experiences and to identify variables to test as mechanisms in future quantitative work.
