Hypertension is a major public health issue affecting more than 28-30% adults and is a major risk factor in the development of stroke, cardiovascular [CV] and chronic kidney disease. Patients with prehypertension [BP 130-130/80-89 mmHg] are also at an increased risk for adverse CV events compared to normotensive controls. World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that up to 50% of adults in many countries are estimated to have high blood pressure. The prevalence of hypertension increases with age, especially after the age of 50 years, and it is a common problem in elderly, reaching prevalence as high as 60 to 80%. The elderly are more likely to have isolated systolic hypertension because of decreased compliance of large vessels. Journal of Metabolic Syndrome publishes the articles on hypertension along with many other fields related to diabetes.
Journal of Metabolic Syndrome open access publishes the original research work through open access allowing researchers, probable learners and the academic fellow to access the works for free, which also results in quick dissemination of findings and a wide impact.
Journal Article is sometimes called a Scientific Article, a Peer-Reviewed Article, or a Scholarly Research Article. Together, journal articles in a particular field are often referred to as The Literature.
Journal articles are most often Primary Research Articles. However, they can also be Review Articles. These types of articles have different aims and requirements. Sometimes, an article describes a new tool or method.
