Myocardial Infarction (MI) is a complex multifactorial disorder caused by the interaction of environmental and genetic factors. Several types of genetic studies and approaches, such as family studies, linkage analysis, candidate gene approach, and genome wide association studies, have tried to unravel the genetic background of MI.
