Nanoscale materials hold great promise for both industrial and biomedical applications. Since, cancer is observed as the most dangerous class of disease categorized by uncontrolled cell growth. Cancer is the third leading cause of death (after heart disease and stroke) in developed countries and the second leading cause of death (after heart disease) in the United States. Lung, stomach, liver, colon and breast tumour are the main types of tumors that lead to total death worldwide. Studies have shown that there were 10 million new cases, 6 million deaths, and 22 million people living with cancer worldwide in the year 2000. These numbers represent an increase of about 22% in incidence and mortality from that of the year 1990. It is projected that the number of new cases of all cancers worldwide will be 12.3 and 15.4 million in the year 2010 and 2020, respectively. In many types of cancer, we are yet to find a satisfactory medicine or carrier of medicine as in case of drug delivery to be used as a satisfactory chemotherapeutic agent.
