Cone Beam CT (CBCT) has become an increasingly important source of three dimensional (3D) volumetric data in clinical pediatric dentistry since its introduction into dentistry in 1998. Cone beam computed tomography has improved diagnosis and treatment planning of patients with supernumerary teeth. The decision to use CBCT should be based on the diagnostic information required. As with any other radiographical technique, routine use of CBCT is not acceptable clinical practice. CBCT certainly has a place in paediatric dentistry, but its use must be justified on a patient case individual basis. This presentation deals with case reports of patients with various pediatric problems to demonstrate the need for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning based on a comprehensive evaluation using CBCT.
