ROMA (Risk Of Malignancy Algorithm) Peer-review Journals

ROMA is currently a very useful diagnostic tool for the preoperative stratification of patients with a pelvic mass, revealing a very good sensitivity and specificity. Further studies are needed, however, in a large assembly of patients and with assays from numerous manufacturers to determine the optimal cutoff points for the algorithm. ROMA performs better than CA125 and HE4 in type II and advanced cancers. Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
