Postural sway leads to poor imbalance and is considered to have two fundamental components, a slow no oscillatory component which accounts for the majority of sway variance during quiet stance and a faster damped-oscillatory component. Postural control is generally considered as a feedback loop in which sensory systems detects and is generate appropriate motor commands to stabilize the body's orientation.
