Abstract

Wireless sensor network is a resource constrained network widely used in various applications where human intervention is not possible. Wireless sensor network works with a battery as the energy source and hence it is not possible to replace or recharge frequently. So an energy efficient technique is desirable for enhancing the network lifetime. In this paper, a study and evaluation of the various energy efficient techniques used in the literature is made. A new fuzzy based routing protocol is also proposed to enhance the network lifetime.
