With the increased adoption of Wireless communication and sensor technology, wireless sensor networks are presently employed in variety of applications from medical to military and from home to industry. The major challenge of WSN is as Sensor nodes are battery operated, energy utilization is the main issue which requires special attention. Previously sensor nodes are considered to be homogeneous in which each node has the same energy, processing capacity and functionality but in order to prolong network lifetime researches has been develop to implant heterogeneity in wireless sensor network in which different energy level is provided to some nodes. This paper enlightens a current survey on basic clustering technique for Homogeneous and Heterogeneous wireless sensor network.
